Hurricane Ike - Kicked Our Butt!

1960 across from the new Target
What!  We don't even own big trees!  I'm not cleaning up that mess!
A lot of trees down in our neighborhood!
Our cul-de-sac looked like a war zone!
The Bear spent endless oil-lamp lite nights (12!) wishing upon a 5000 btu generator!

Chocolate Fallow Buck

The Bear's chocolate fallow buck taken this October 2008 on a hunting trip with bad boyz Joe Holzworth and Pat Bearrow.  This one is getting mounted and it has a reserved spot in the family room -- I can't wait!  I am ecstatic that my Bear enjoys this hobby and support him fully!

Taquachito Nights, 17th Annual Conjunto Festival - San Benito Texas - Oct 2008

This past October 25th, Sofia Allison (a long-time friend of 16 years) and I drove down to The Valley towards Harlingen final destination was San Benito (a small burb of Harlingen). I had never been to that part of Texas so this was a new experience for me. Our goal was to attend the 17th Annual Conjunto Festival held by the Narciso Martinez Cultural Arts Center. It was an amazing festival featuring several of the old conjunto greats and some of the new ones as well. The music was awesome! We met a lot of very friendly folks that made us feel very welcomed and like family. We are especially fond of our new comadres, Ninfa Valdez and Irma Ponce. I think they should be named the NMCAC Conjunto Ambasadoras. There's no other like those lovely Ladies!

Come on folks! Life is short - why not do the things you've always wanted to do? Get off that couch and explore!
